09/07/2005 - The Guestbook...

Sadly, after almost 10 years of being on my site in it's original form, I have had to disable my guestbook today because it has become overrun by idiots trying to advertise their worthless crap. It had reached the point where as many as ten times per day someone would post an advertisement for a get-rich-quick scheme, online gambling site, penis enlargement pill, or some other useless piece of junk, and I was spending an awful lot of time every day removing them.

So, today ends an era. Not only has our email been taken hostage and made all but useless by spammers, but really the whole Internet as it once was has truly fallen victim to them now as well. A sad day indeed.

You may still read all of the previous guestbook entries below. Some of them are quite amusing. THANK YOU to everyone who's signed my guestbook over the years, before the spammers took over.

Hi Jeff: Okay, this has been bugging me for a while now, and since you seem to be a Pac-man lover, I figured you of all people would know whether or not I'm imagining this....when I was a kid in the early eighties, there was this cool hip-hop song, **NOT** the song by Buckner and Garcia, which I believe was also called "Pac-Man Fever." It came out in the early eighties, and I used to have a cassette of it that my cousin in New York made for me (she was into breakdancing and underground hip hop back in those days), so it wasn't like a big hit or anything, it was more of a club/disco hit. Does anyone else on the entire planet remember this song? Anyone? You? You must know about it, since you have an entire Pac-man site. Am I crazy, is this merely a product of my imagination from a misspent youth? I'm not a video game nut or anything, but I do own the Buckner and Garcia cd and a bunch of stuff from the eighties, because, well, I was THERE, but other people have insisted I don't know what I'm talking about on this one, and I hate that! Sigh. It's a shame some people are so immature. The Easter egg page is, as if it weren't obvious enough, just supposed to be something funny. Apparently some people are either so stupid or so lacking of a sense of humor that they can't figure that out, and feel the only way to deal with their deficiency it is to yell at other people about it or insult them for it.
