A Few Pac-Man Poems

This first poem was discovered on a french web site, and was translated to english by Norman Choe <normanc@xensei.com>.

Update: Moonbeem <omeyer@bplorraine.fr> has informed me that this actually isn't a poem, but the lyrics to a song! It's the theme song from the French version of the Pac-Man TV cartoon show. It was sung by William Leymergie on "Antenne2" (a TV channel in France now called France2.) Many thanks to Moonbeam for the updated information!

Also, trikl0ps@aol.com has made a few corrections to the French -> English translation for me. Thanks!

3/11/02: acidburn@switch.to has made a few more corrections to the French -> English translation, and a link to a French site where you can listen to the song in MP3 format: GénéDA. Thanks acidburn!

Pac-Man
Rond comme un ballon Round as a balloon
Et plus jaune qu'un citron and more yellow than a lemon
C'est lui Pac-Man, Pac-Man that's him- Pac-Man, Pac-Man
Gentil-til bonhomme kind good guy
Poursuivi par les fantomes chased by ghosts
C'est lui Pac-Man, Pac-Man that's him- Pac-Man, Pac-Man
Il court, il roule he runs, he rolls
Il est malin he's a rogue
C'est une p'tite boule he's a little ball
Qui n'a peur de rien who doesn't fear anything
Faut faire attention car you need to pay attention
voila les gloutons Vite une because there the gluttons
Pac-Gum, il devore les eat a Pac-Gum, he eats the
fantomes Grace a son grand ghosts thanks to his big
coeur, il sera toujours heart, he'll always be the
vainqueur C'est lui Pac-Man, winner that's him- Pac-Man,
Pac-Man Pac-Man

Next up is a poem written by KeaL <redsky@aloha.net>, who e-mailed it to me for inclusion on this page. Thanks KeaL!

Ode to Pac-Man
A faint 'waka waka' in the distance
Sirens wail with no remorse
Immobilized for hours...
I've got the fever, of course.
Years go by, and so do games
So many seemed so grand!
But the game cabinet I'll be buried in?
You guessed it. Namco's Pac-Man.
