...there's no place like home

It's hard to find decent housing, which is why we've held on to this house (a dilapidated 12-room 1860's Victorian now owned by Iranian Jewish exiles) for eight years. An average studio apartment is $550/month; a one-bedroom is $675/month. A room in a house averages about $350/month. Condominia start at $69K for a studio.

But to us, it's more than a house. For most of our time here, it's been a place where bands have been born and bands have died, where songs have been written, rehearsed, recorded, and performed (we had legendary parties until two years ago).

As of September 1996, we're going to have to pay 25% more rent to stay in this shitbox. We're not happy about this. Not happy at all.
