One of the most
extensive projects
completed by KTMS is a
virtual tour of the
Boston Marathon course
in commemoration of
the 100th running of
this historic race.
Terrain data was com-
bined with landmark
buildings, road signs,
and mile markers to
create a model of the
entire 26.2 mile course.
Parts of the model were
rendered out by Silicon
Graphics, Inc. for the
race day telecast on
WBZ-TV, Boston. The
entire dataset can be
seen on the 100th.com
web site in the form of
VRML, QuickTime, and
still images.
